On Sunday, February 8th at 3:00 p.m. Filmmaker Rick Ray will present is documentary "The Soul of India" at the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts in Spencer. Our Adventure Cinema Series allows the audience to visit far-off exotic lands and meet the artists who make this possible.
In the documentary "The Soul of India" Rick Ray opens a world that is unfamiliar to many of us. The audience will be guided to not only the popular tourist locations of India such as the Taj Mahal, but also to the small villages that make India what it is. The people, the colors, the sights and the sounds will be displayed to allow us to better understand the culture of this ancient country. This exotic country of over a billion people (that's one sixth of the world's entire population!) has an extraordinarily diverse culture that is largely unknown by Americans.
From the Himalayas to the River Ganges and from the tropical rain forest to the Thar Desert, India is full of contrasts. Historically known for its trade routes and vast empire it is now known for its fast growing economy and technologies.
Whether you wish to travel without the burden of expensive traveling costs or desire to learn more about the art of film making, "The Soul of India" is your ticket to an afternoon of dreams come true.
