with filmmakers Mary Lee & Sid Nolan
Sunday, April 26, 2009 -- 3:00 p.m.
A train called the Rossia thunders across Russia linking the far flung margins of the world's largest country. This journey on the Trans-Siberian Railroad begins with the palaces of St. Petersburg, visits Moscow and the Golden Ring, pauses in the Urals, explores the region around Siberia's Lake Bailkl, and reaches the Pacific at Vladivostok. It ends in the mountain tundra of the Kamchata Peninsula as nomadic herders round up a herd of 2,000 reindeer. Along the route we will see Russia's varied landscapes and the ethnic diversity of its peoples.
